Second Floor structure:
The second floor structure is conformed by three elements, pre-stressed concrete beams, Styrofoam blocks and a 6 cm reinforced concrete slab.
The roof is supported by 3 by 9 inches Guanacaste wood beams, these will ensure the proper tile roof support and the beauty of the exposed Guanacaste wood.
On the vaulted ceiling areas, there is what in Costa Rica is called “Caña Brava”, which is alike to bamboo cane. This will give a beautiful natural texture, which will hold against the moisture, bugs and time. In the first floor, the green board ceilings are covered with fine Venetian stucco, with ceiling fans, recessed lights and sofits in all the contours.
The interior walls are made with 15x40x20 cm concrete blocks, covered with fine Venetian type stucco. This kind of stucco gives a beautiful game of dark and light stains, giving color, texture and personality to the wall, also the smooth surfaces make it perfect for interiors.
Natural lime stone, laid out on a multi-format pattern and finished with satin sealer. This stone is imported from Colombia.
The steps for the spiral staircase are one solid stone piece, custom made for each house.
Clay tile made here in Costa Rica.
Made of Meranti, this is an exotic wood imported from Indonesia, it absorbs only the 2% of humidity, non comparable to the 20% of the cedar. Also, the high tech hardware, rolls and tracks, allows you to move a 4 inch thick sliding door with just one finger.
Made of solid cedar, the finish of these doors makes them elegant, yet with an aged look. The hardware are heavy and tight pieces of aged metal.
Custom made cabinets imported from Spain, on a high tech look with stainless steel countertops, combined with natural stone backgrounds. Casa Arbole has fine Brazilian granite. The hydraulic system will automatically slow the speed of the drawer when closing. The most luxury Viking professional appliances will be built in the cabinets, including a 48 inch wide refrigerator, double gas stove, double convection ovens, microwave oven, warming drawer, dish washer, and ice maker.
Each light switch is programmable, music volume control and speakers in each room, alarm system, automatic sprinkler system, and security video cameras, all will be controlled with a touch screen next to you. You will be able to control all the smart features of the house through the internet.
24 hour security, with a guard house, illuminated drive ways finished with concrete pavers.

This project is a response for those who claim for the charm of the old world, yet with the highest technology the future demands. A combination of natural textures and colors, with purist accessories, makes the living a practical dream.
The project is standing on a solid Guanacaste rock platform, to dig the footings, in some spots we had to use a compressor to remove the rock. This guarantees the stability of the three houses during an earthquake.
The houses are supported by 24 inches wide reinforced concrete footings, and some tall walls with 40 inches wide footings. All footings are poured concrete with a proportion of 1:2:3.
The exterior walls are made with poured concrete on the sides to shape the arches, and 15 cm block in the middle of the arch. All walls have #4 rebar and #3 rings every 20 cm. They are covered with fine Venetian Stucco, each house on a different color, but matching on an earth tone scheme.
The columns are reinforced with #5 rebar and #4 rings every 20 cm.
We have stayed in some of the finest homes in the world and Haciendas Flamingo is the finest of them all.· Bill Meyers ·
